Role credits: Movie trailers help build literacy

Teacher Karen Coats talks about the program she created to help her students at Lourdes Academy develop a lifelong interest in reading.

Funded by a Celebrate Education grant in 2015, the program allows students to create movie trailers about the books they are reading to help get their classmates interested in reading the same book.

These grants assist teachers in bringing new and innovative programs to their classrooms. They are funded by the Mid-Morning Kiwanis Club of Oshkosh, the Zmolek Family Education Fund and the Oshkosh Area School District Education Foundation.
