We’ve been part of the community since 1928, when 10 innovative and forward-thinking business leaders established the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation to encourage “public spirited citizens” to invest in the future of Oshkosh. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Winnebago County, Waushara County, Green Lake County and Ripon.
Strengthen our communities. We accomplish this through:
- Leadership and funding to address current and emerging needs;
- Collaboration and partnership with donors or others to ensure lasting impact; and
- Outstanding stewardship and inspired philanthropy.
The Foundation advances the community’s quality of life and capacity for excellence.
Leadership. Provide active, inspired and future-oriented collaborative approaches.
Integrity. Earn trust and confidence through honesty, fairness and credibility.
Collaboration. Invite, include and inspire others to work in common purpose.
Stewardship. Achieve donor objectives through open, thoughtful and accountable actions.
The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation is overseen by a 14-member volunteer Board of Directors who manage the Foundation’s assets, develop new charitable funds and approve grants to local nonprofit organizations. Board members serve up to two consecutive five-year terms.
The Foundation also has affiliate organizations which have their own boards that make grants and direct fundraising efforts to develop grant making resources in their specified communities or interest areas. These include the Green Lake County/Ripon Community Foundation, the Winneconne Area Community Foundation and the Women’s Fund.
